Cavs Fans Don’t Understand Simple Economics

Can we please get some sort of federal disaster relief funding to send in some econ professors into the Cleveland area? These people need to sorely learn the concept of opportunity cost.
Apparently, Cleveland area Papa John’s pizzerias have been offering 23 cent pizza promotions to counter the LeBron James Crybaby t-shirts that were distributed in the Washington area during the Cleveland Cavaliers-Washington Wizards series.
That’s fine and all, except police had to constantly be on hand to prevent riots. PIZZA RIOTS.
The fine citizens of Cleveland seemingly never learned how to wait in line correctly, something we get the hang of by the time middle school comes around, succumbing to line-cutting and fisticuffs.
But I suppose if you’re the type that chooses to wait over 4 hours for a 23 cent pizza, you failed to learn those middle school lessons, let alone any economic principles.
In those 4 hours, you could go at your minimum wage job at the rate of $7.00/hr in Ohio. That’s $28 right there (we won’t factor in taxes)!
Hell, you could just work a couple hours, get 3 Domino’s pizzas instead (4-4-4 deal) for $12, and spend the other 2 hours you have left in the comfort of your own home watching the game on television, or a multitude of other things.
Unless you’re homeless. Then you have no job and all the time in the world. In which case its fine. Carry on.
